Senior Research Insights Specialist

THE ROLE, IN BRIEF:

The Senior Research Insights Specialist leads the design, planning, and execution of a variety of research projects that help inform client teams, internal agency initiatives, and new business pitches. Research projects include a mix of quantitative and qualitative primary research, secondary research, and the use of various agency platforms and syndicated tools to support audience and market identification and sizing.

As part of the agency’s Insight & Strategy team, the Senior Research Insights Specialist works to design, execute, and structure research data into reports that inform both marketing plans and creative initiatives at the agency.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Autonomously define research objectives and select design research studies to gather relevant data: Develop screeners and survey questionnaires, organize data collection, analyze and synthesize data, develop research reports, and prepare strategic recommendations for both internal and client presentations.
  • Responsible for a variety of incoming, sometimes ad-hoc research requests that help to inform annual strategic account planning, address specific client questions, or otherwise ensure that teams become experts on industries, marketing effectiveness, and consumer sentiments.
  • Using media tools and data analysis, engage in audience monitoring for clients, which involves routinely identifying shifts in audience composition, size, or behavior.
  • Work closely with third party vendors to ensure they are providing the data we need in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Lead the development and management of timelines and budgets for research studies and other projects.
  • Assist in the development of new business pitches, presentations and other written documents.
  • Integrate research techniques as needed into the creative and message development process (e.g. messaging hierarchy studies)
  • Continuously evaluate our research data research tool stack and vendor relationships to ensure they are best serving the needs of the agency and proactively recommend new tools and approaches.
  • Help define the process, timeline, and pricing for quantitative and qualitative research projects.
  • Proactively stay on top of consumer, competitor and category trends to proactively inform new business opportunities for the agency and its clients.
  • Maintains an active curiosity and a strong desire to learn.



THOSE WHO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience in advertising at an agency
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited university preferred
  • Strong and demonstrable background in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis required
  • Strong background interpreting research findings, from a variety of sources, identifying insights and connecting them to broader strategic needs to create a comprehensive “story” from the research
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing, advertising, and research practices
  • Proficiency with common research platforms and media tools for designing, fielding, collecting, and analyzing audience data (Claritas, MRI-Simmons, etc.)
  • Proficiency with common computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office)

  • Well-spoken and succinct – with the ability to clearly articulate complex quantitative and qualitative research findings, and distill them into key takeaways and business recommendations
  • Possesses sound judgment and effective problem-solving skills, learning quickly from experience
  • Must possess an insatiable passion for client business categories
  • Must demonstrate a high ability in priority setting, time management and managing workload – able to prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines and tight timelines
  • High attention to detail – attentive, accurate and thorough
  • Must be able to write and speak with clarity, authority and persuasion, possessing expert presentation and written skills
  • Must have research timeline and budget management skills
  • Ability to cultivate a collaborative work environment with team members and has a constant desire for relationship development (with clients, vendors, team members)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EAS and have a working knowledge of all agency presentation equipment
  • ClickUp (or other project management software) knowledge is a bonus

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION:

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:30pm. Remote work available Mondays and Fridays. This role is based out of our Denver, CO office.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000/year.
