Best Super Bowl matchup for marketers

The rematch – Pats vs. Giants – makes the most cents for marketers. I mean, with both teams going for their fourth Super Bowl title, and let’s face it, the 2008 game that prevented the Pats from an undefeated season, this is a matchup made in television heaven. Not to mention, the beaucoup bucks that would back it (from advertising to travel dollars). While the Advertising Age article is very friendly towards the New York audience, let’s not forget the six states that make up New England: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. The New England Patriots, and fans alike, dedicated this season to Myra H. Kraft, owner Robert Kraft’s wife, after a long battle with cancer. Their inspiration has been patched on their jerseys. And while many mean money, this season for this New England team has meaning. . .

So, with the big football weekend, which team matchup will offer the best return on investment (up to $3.5 million for a 30-second spot, mind you) for brands advertising during the big game on Feb. 5?
